Mr. Richard D. “Rich” Hall, 79, formerly of Erie, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, in Lexington, South Carolina. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on April 25, 1947, a son of the late Richard C. and Mary V. (Quinn) Hall.
Rich graduated from Penn State University. He was an engineer with General Electric for many years. He was proud that he traveled all over the world in his career. He was a member of the Antique Automobile
Club of America, the Sports Car Club of America, Foothills British car club and Scions of Britain Erie. Rich enjoyed his years as a volunteer at the Erie Maritime Museum. He always had great jokes to share and he was an excellent cartoonist. Rich loved his family and especially his wife Sharron who passed in 2020.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sharron Lee (Straub) Hall; a sister, Barbara L. Vasko; and his father and mother-in-law, Francis and Rosemary Straub.
Survivors include two brothers, David (Kathy) Hall and Laurence (Dorothy “Dodie”) Hall; brother-in-law, Charles Vasko and sister-in-law, Mary Frances (Alan) Yeaney; and many nieces and nephews and many friends.
Private funeral services and burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Pennsylvania. In lieu of flowers, memorials donations may be made in Richard’s name to UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, 2500 West 12th Street Erie, PA 16505. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic Batesburg-Leesville Chapel is assisting the Hall family with local arrangements.
