Flights heading to Philadelphia International Airport may be held at their departure airports amid a ground stop issued due to thunderstorms, according to the FAA’s Air Traffic Control System Command Center.
Officials said the ground stop was initially set to be in effect until 3 p.m., but it was now been extended to 4 p.m. The ground stop has now been lifted.
Arriving flights at PHL were being delayed an average of 1 hour and 16 minutes, according to officials.
According to FlightAware, as of 3:28 p.m., 139 incoming flights and 104 departing flights were delayed. Inn addition, 55 flights have been canceled.
