Allegheny County Bomb Squad, local police active on scene in Penn Hills
PENN HILLS TOWNSHIP, Pa. —
Allegheny County bomb squad, alongside Penn Hills police, initiated an investigation Sunday afternoon, leading to a major road being blocked to traffic.
County officials confirmed to Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 that its bomb squad was assisting local police with an investigation along Frankstown Road.
The specifics behind the investigation have not been made public at this time.
Our photojournalist was on the scene, where an ambulance and fire vehicle were blocking the road to traffic. Police and what appeared to be bomb squad officials were also observed walking along the road.
Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 has reached out to Penn Hills police for more information on what led to the incident.
As of 1 p.m., a portion of Frankstown Road remains closed to traffic.
