PITTSBURGH — Jared Jones and the Pirates were clobbered 11-1 by the Mets in Sunday’s rubber match at PNC Park for the team’s sixth straight series loss.
Scoring Plays
Top 1st, 2-0 NYM: The first three batters for the Mets (52-67) all reached and loaded the bases for Carson Benge, who plated a run on a check-swing single to left field. New York tacked on another off Jared Jones (2-4) on Luis Robert Jr.’s sacrifice fly to right.
Top 3rd, 5-0 NYM: Robert got the Pirates again with a two-run home run to right-center. Later in the inning, Jake Mangum was unable to make a sliding catch in center, and Jared Young pulled into third for a triple after the ball rolled to the wall. He scored on Marcus Semien’s two-out single to left.
Bottom 3rd, 5-1 NYM: Mangum got the Pirates (58-62) on the board with a solo home run to center field off Sean Manaea (4-5).
Top 4th, 9-1 NYM: The Mets blew the game open with a four-run inning. They again loaded the bases against Jared Jones with no outs, and Bo Bichette beat an outfield shift with a bases-clearing double to left off Evan Sisk. He scored on Jared Young’s two-out single to right.
Top 5th, 10-1 NYM: Francisco Alvarez put the Mets into double digits with a solo home run to left off Kirby Yates.
Top 7th, 11-1 NYM: Robert came through again with an RBI single up the middle off Gregory Soto.

Sean Manaea had 11 strikeouts, the most he’s had in a game since 2024. The left-hander blanked the Pirates across a season-high-tying seven innings, scattering three hits. He did not walk a batter.
