JESSUP, LACKAWANNA CO., (WOLF) — Authorities are investigating the deaths of a father and daughter who were found inside their Lackawanna County home after police were called to conduct a welfare check.
Jessup Borough Police identified the victims as Anthony Bruno, 68, and his daughter, Samantha Bruno, 32.
Police said officers responded Monday to 367 Lane St. in Jessup for a welfare check and discovered the residence was secured from the inside.
The two victims were eventually found inside the master bedroom on the second floor of the home, according to police.
The Lackawanna County Coroner’s Office said the causes of death for both Anthony and Samantha Bruno remain undetermined and under investigation.
Earlier Monday, Lackawanna County District Attorney Brian Gallagher told FOX56 that authorities were investigating a shooting involving two deaths in Jessup.
“There is a shooting investigation in which two are deceased in Jessup, Pa.,” Gallagher told FOX56.
The family’s dog was also found dead inside the residence, according to Jessup Police Chief Eddie Boettcher.
Chief Boettcher said they have not received calls about the residence before today.
Jessup police are investigating with assistance from Pennsylvania State Police and the Lackawanna County Coroner’s Office.
Authorities said they believe the deaths stem from an isolated incident and stressed that there is no danger to the public.
