A large-scale search effort is underway for a 76-year-old Greenwood-area man with dementia who was reported missing Monday afternoon near Conneaut Lake.
The man was last seen between 12:30 p.m. and 1 p.m. in the area of 6821 Scott Road, according to search officials. He was wearing blue jeans, a greenish-gray T-shirt, and may also be wearing barn boots. He is described as a white male with grey balding hair.
Multiple agencies have joined the search, including the Pennsylvania State Police, which has deployed a helicopter to assist from the air, and the Northwest Canine Unit, whose teams are working to track the missing man on the ground.
Search operations have expanded across several responding departments, including Lake City, Greenwood, Conneaut Lake, Vernon Township, and Central areas, as crews work to locate the missing resident as quickly as possible.
Dozens of local volunteers have also joined the effort, with members of the community searching on horseback to help cover large sections of rural terrain.
Authorities are urging residents in the area to check properties, outbuildings, wooded areas, and surveillance cameras for any sign of the man. Anyone who believes they may have seen him or has information about his whereabouts is asked to contact Pennsylvania State Police immediately.
The search remains active as emergency personnel and volunteers continue working throughout the region.
Anyone with information about the missing man should contact the Pennsylvania State Police Erie Barracks at (814) 898-1641.
