Children from across Erie got a glimpse into the future August 12 as the Futuristic Fair opened at the expERIEnce Children’s Museum, giving young people the opportunity to explore technology, engineering and innovation through hands-on activities.
The event brought together some of the region’s top technical minds to introduce children to emerging technologies and potential career paths in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
Among the highlights were demonstrations featuring camera-equipped drones, allowing kids to see firsthand how the technology is used in real-world applications. Attendees also learned about the technology that powers modern trains and transportation systems.
Gannon University was on hand to provide a 3D modeling workshop, offering participants an interactive look at digital design and the creative possibilities available through advanced technology.
The goal of the event was to show children that innovation is happening right here in Erie and that they can play a role in shaping the future of the community and beyond.
In addition to the educational opportunities, families received discounted admission to the museum for the day thanks to a sponsorship from Industrial Sales & Manufacturing, Inc.
The Futuristic Fair provided children with a chance to explore new ideas, interact with technology and gain inspiration from professionals working in technical fields throughout the region.
