Multiple rescue agencies responded a sailboat that was reportedly overturned on Lake Erie Tuesday afternoon near Conneaut Harbor.
The rescue effort began shortly before 1 p.m., with crews responding to reports of an overturned sailboat approximately two miles offshore.
A number of agencies have been involved in the search, including local water rescue teams and other emergency responders.
A lieutenant and another officer indicated they believe the primary search effort has shifted into Pennsylvania waters.
Onshore, support units remain staged at 1205 Broad Street, near Smoke on the Water BBQ & Seafood, where crews have been coordinating response efforts.
According to Lake City Fire Company, one person remains missing from the vessel.
Authorities have not released additional information about the circumstances surrounding the incident as the search continues.
