ALLENTOWN, Pa. — Allentown’s Back-to-School Bash is in full swing at Cedar Beach Park on Wednesday.
“We’re getting backpacks, and we saw that there were lots of activities to participate in, so we came,” Luther Leon said.
Students can pick up supplies, snacks, and get a head start before the school year.
“We’ve gotten good stuff, like pens and books, stuff like that,” said student Sophia Hernandez.
The event also gives families a chance to connect with community groups and resources.
“It’s exciting, it’s always great that they do this for the community, but it’s also exciting to be part of it and get to meet neighbors and people in the community,” said Johnny Lopez, pastor at West End Church.
“Growing up, we didn’t have anything like this, so to see the community give back, especially to Allentown, it’s just been wonderful,” said parent Julianny Casado. “It’s so much fun.”
