Erie could be taking another step toward becoming a major logistics hub.
Logistics Plus CEO Yuriy Ostapyak says a two-year associate degree through a local community college could give students the skills needed for an industry that’s constantly evolving.
Students could learn everything from purchasing and inventory management to transportation and data analytics.
The program would also include hands-on experience and internships with local employers.
Erie already has the infrastructure to move goods by road, rail, air and water. Now, the focus is on building the workforce needed to support that growth.
The program is still in its early stages, but Ostapyak says progress is being made quickly, with partners from across the community working to get it off the ground as soon as possible.
