At Wednesday night’s Erie School Board meeting, there was debate over personnel changes requested by Superintendent Dr. Natalyn Gibbs.
Those changes involve six administration jobs, with one being a new position.
The moves would cost the district another $213,000. That prompted opponents to cite the fiscal problems of the past, arguing against a plan the district may not be able to pay for in the future.
Supporters were in favor of letting the superintendent implement her vision.

“It’s okay to have disagreements on the board. That’s why we’re here. We’re a deliberative body. People are allowed to have different options and at the end of the day, you move on and focus on the next thing,” said Dr. Jay Breneman, school board president.
The board voted five-to-three in favor of the request by Dr. Gibbs.
