The New York Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a human body was discovered along the Lake Erie shoreline on August 13 in the Town of Ripley.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 9 a.m. to the area of North State Line Road and Barden Road following a report of a body that had washed ashore and become lodged along the shoreline near a residence.
Investigators said the individual appears to be a light-skinned male, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a beard and short hair with a receding hairline. Authorities reported that no visible tattoos, scars or other readily identifiable markings were observed.
The identity of the deceased has not been released, and officials have not announced a cause of death. The investigation remains ongoing at this time.
