The Pennsylvania Game Commission announced that it is discontinuing the Deputy Game Warden Program.
A PGC spokesperson said the decision to end the program reflects the Commission’s focus on “having the most efficient and effective full-time, professional workforce.”
“The Commission is deeply grateful to the committed individuals that volunteered and served as deputy wardens, providing valuable services to the agency and to the people of Pennsylvania,” PGC Press Secretary John Buffone said.
Buffone said the PGC is “unwavering in its obligation to serve as the guardian of state wildlife resources for all citizens.”
