Groups of settlers stormed the Jabal al-Qarn area, part of Al-Minya village, east of Bethlehem Governorate, in the early hours of Thursday morning. The attack targeted a house and a farm belonging to the Jabareen family. Local sources reported that the assailants stole over 100 sheep and a private vehicle, in addition to carrying out extensive acts of sabotage that affected the infrastructure of the farm and the house.
According to the head of the Al-Minya village council, the attack, which occurred at 3 AM, took place under the cover of Israeli occupation forces who detained family members and prevented them from defending their property. The settlers did not stop at theft; they also uprooted more than 100 olive trees, destroyed the solar energy system that supplied the house with electricity, cut main water lines, and completely destroyed the interior contents of the house.
In the context of physical assaults, members of the Jabareen family were severely beaten by the settlers, resulting in injuries to several citizens. One of the injured was transferred to Al-Hussein Hospital in Beit Jala for necessary treatment, while the occupation forces arrested the second injured person despite his deteriorating health and urgent need for immediate medical care, a move that reflects the extent of field coordination between settlers and the army.
Accompanying the attack, the arrest campaign targeted three sons of the family: Hussein Abdul Aziz Jabareen, Mohammed Abdul Aziz Jabareen, and Sultan Jasser Abdul Aziz Jabareen, who were taken to occupation interrogation centers. This incident comes amid an escalation in the systematic violence practiced by settlers in the areas east of Bethlehem, which aims to pressure Palestinian farmers and displace them from their pastoral and agricultural lands.
It is worth noting that Al-Minya village and the Jabal al-Qarn area have recently witnessed repeated targeting of water sources, electricity networks, and private property, as part of a continuous field pressure policy on local residents. Sources confirm that these attacks have taken on a more organized and brutal character, with the destruction of citizens’ basic livelihoods through direct targeting of livestock and fruit trees.
