A memo sent to residents confirms that the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has expanded its investigation to include all three Erie Independence House properties.
According to the memo, HUD has transferred the case to a specialized team following recent meetings. The document also states that multiple state and federal agencies, including the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and the U.S. Department of Labor, are now monitoring conditions at the properties.
