Albert R. Sunick, Sr.
OBITUARY
Albert R. Sunick Sr., N Ft. Myers, Florida, peacefully departed this world on September 14, 2025. Born on April 8, 1931, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, Albert was the youngest of ten children to Stephen and Mary (Duchak) Sunick. He was a 1949 graduate of Scranton Technical High School and began a long career as a Millwright with Bethlehem Steel and as a mechanic with NFTA until his retirement.
Albert is survived by his wife of 26 years Beverly(Brown-Dunn), children Bert Sunick, Stephen (Mary) Sunick, Stacey (Bill) Marchlewski, all of upstate New York and Nancy Kellner of Emmaus, PA .
Step children Gindy (Bill)White, Paula Dunn- Chernogorec, Don(Robin)Dunn also grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
He is also survived by sister-in-law Catherine Sunick, Scranton.
Albert was preceded in death by his beloved first wife of 47 years, Rosemary (nee Laffey), daughter Mary Susan Giambrone, his parents and all his siblings.
He served in many community organizations including The Hilltoppers, Knights of Columbus, USW Union #2601 officer, and Treasurer for the Democratic Committee of Hamburg, NY.
Albert was renowned as the life of the party, always bringing joy and laughter to all who knew him.
A Mass of Christian Burial to honor Albert’s life will be held on August 15, 2026 – 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Church, Lackawanna, NY, followed by burial at Hillcrest Cemetery, Hamburg, NY.
