WEST READING, Pa. — You want fries with that? You’re not going to hear that this weekend at the 8th annual French Fry Fest in Berks County.
Because here, fries are the main entree.
“We traveled about an hour to come get these fries,” said Brian Schneebeli.
Schneebeli and Brooke Green ordered street corn and brisket fries.
“They’re delicious, super cheesy. Those are amazing, and so you definitely get the street corn flavor to it,” they said. “I was gonna say this is loaded with meat, on top of the barbecue sauce.”
Organizers estimate, out of the 70 vendors here, 24 are serving up different variations of french fries.
Including Senor Taco Fries for the whole family to enjoy.

“This has been a great festival, and it’s been doing really good for them. The weather really cooperated this year,” said Greg Buckwalter. “We’ll be back and we’ll come up with new fun stuff.”
“Every vendor is absolutely packed today, which is exactly what you want to see,” said Green. “You want to see lines for every vendor. It means that they’re doing great business and people are here trying to support the local businesses.”
