(WHTM) — More than 70 shelter dogs and puppies are looking for their next homes in central Pennsylvania after being flown from California thanks to a partnership between two animal shelters.
The animals are coming from overcrowded shelters in Southern California but before they make their way to the Keystone state, they have to make their red carpet appearance.
Some of the puppies made their appearance at the Astra TV Awards in Los Angeles on Saturday night and got “close-ups” with stars Jason Ritter, William H. Macy and Cedric the Entertainer, among others.

The lifesaving flight is part of Brandywine Valley SPCA’s Second Chance Program, which relocates homeless pets from overcrowded shelters and is being done in tandem with Riverside County Department of Animal Services (RCDAS) as well as the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).
The dogs are scheduled to touch down at the Chester County Airport sometime Monday and will then head to the West Chester campus or the Humane Society of Harrisburg Area. Some could be ready for adoption by Tuesday, the BVSPCA said.
