The New Braunfels Public Library’s 2026 Summer Reading Program kicks off on Saturday, June 6th, 2026, launching a summer’s worth of reading fun and activities. This year’s theme is “Unearth a Story” which encourages readers of all ages to explore new ideas, discover great books, and enjoy a season of learning and creativity.
This year’s Summer Reading Program begins with a fun-filled kickoff event at the Main Branch Library on Common Street on Saturday, June 6th, from 10am to 1pm. The kickoff party will include storytime with NBPD police officers and NBFD firefighters, an outdoor foam party, live music from Staci Gray, and much more!
“The New Braunfels Public Library System has an amazing lineup of programs for the community this summer,” said Library Director Cole Johnson. “Be on the lookout throughout the summer for a variety of events for kids and adults alike. Programs this year includes wildlife shows, sensory playtimes, movie parties, swordplay exhibitions, science demonstrations, and specialty story times. It’s easy for the whole family to participate together and get reading this summer. Just pick up a game card to get started!”
