Newswatch 16 stopped by to see volunteers work with fire equipment and learn how to plan for future fires.
CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. — On Saturday, Clarks Summit Fire Company, along with surrounding departments, conducted a “fire training” exercise in Lackawanna County.
The training was held at a building along Center Street in Clarks Summit.
Volunteers got the chance to work with various equipment and learn about how to plan for future active fires.
“These are departments that would be working in a real-life incident. Combining that with the training today, getting them all together really gives them a step up when they are responding to real emergencies,” said Pennsylvania Fire Academy instructor Jim Cuzmack.
Crews operated power equipment, hose lines, and aerial ladders during today’s fire training.
