The Erie United Methodist Alliance (EUMA) received a major boost in its efforts to help the region’s homeless population, raising more than $136,000 during Erie Gives Day.
The nonprofit organization provides a variety of services and resources to individuals and families experiencing homelessness throughout the Erie community. The funds raised will help EUMA continue its mission of supporting residents in need and connecting them with essential resources.
One of EUMA’s key programs is the Rainbow Connection Thrift Store on Buffalo Road. The store offers affordable clothing, furniture, kitchen utensils, household items, and other necessities aimed at helping people rebuild their lives and regain stability.
By providing access to everyday essentials, the thrift store helps alleviate some of the financial burdens faced by individuals transitioning into permanent housing or working to get back on their feet.
EUMA officials say community support through Erie Gives Day plays a critical role in sustaining these programs and ensuring that local residents facing homelessness have access to the assistance they need.
The more than $136,000 raised reflects the generosity of Erie-area donors and highlights the community’s commitment to supporting organizations that make a difference in the lives of vulnerable residents.
