PALMER TWP., Pa. – On Friday, a 20-year-old man got into a verbal altercation with an employee at Mavis Discount Tire, threatening the worker and drawing a gun on him, police say.
Palmer Township Police identified the suspect as 20-year-old Jacob Cotto Hockman.
On Friday around 3:30 a.m., police were called to Mavis Discount Tire at 2481 Park Ave regarding a reported disturbance.
According to Palmer Township Police, Cotto Hockman started a verbal argument with the employee after being advised to leave the property.
While entering his vehicle, the male suspect became angry and threatened violence on the employee, saying he was going to punch him in the face, police say.
Cotto Hockman put his car into reverse and attempted to strike the employee with his vehicle, authorities say.
Police say Hockman drew a handgun on the worker out the window of his car, threatening to shoot him.
Following the incident, officers tracked down the suspect’s vehicle and conducted a vehicle stop.
Cotto Hockman was taken into custody without any further incident, police say. He was transported to the Palmer Township Police Department for processing.
Further investigation confirmed two black pellet handguns located inside the vehicle, officials say.
Cotto Hockman has been charged with terroristic threats, simple assault, and recklessly endangering another person, according to police.
He was arraigned and committed to the Northampton County Prison on $15,000 bail, authorities say.
