Residents of Wesleyville Borough can expect safer and more accessible streets thanks to a $605,720 grant from Pennsylvania’s Multimodal Transportation Fund, according to an announcement from state Representatives Bob Merski and Pat Harkins.
The funding will be used to support the reconstruction of Edison Avenue, along with a series of pedestrian-focused improvements designed to enhance safety and accessibility for residents, motorists, and visitors.
Representative Merski said the project addresses important infrastructure needs along one of the borough’s key roadways.
“This project is about making Edison Avenue work better for everyone,” Merski said. “With reconstruction and pedestrian improvements, we’re addressing core needs along this key corridor.”
Representative Harkins emphasized the importance of investing in infrastructure that residents depend on every day.
“This is a practical investment in a corridor residents rely on every day,” Harkins said. “This funding lets us proceed with infrastructure enhancements that benefit the community.”
The grant was awarded through Pennsylvania’s Multimodal Transportation Fund, a program that helps finance projects aimed at improving transportation systems, encouraging economic development, and providing safe and reliable access for communities across the Commonwealth.
