PINE TOWNSHIP — An Erie man is accused of stealing more than a thousand dollars’ worth of merchandise from the Grove City Walmart.
Ryan Scott Butcher, 35, is charged with retail theft. A court date has not been set as of Thursday, according to court documents.
The charge stems from an incident that occurred on Dec. 13, 2025, at the store, according to the criminal complaint.
Butcher can allegedly be seen on security video entering the Walmart around 6:26 p.m. and placing 13 items from multiple departments into a shopping cart.
Butcher then left the store without attempting to pay. The total value for the stolen items was $1,294.
Police eventually identified Butcher and found there were several other pending cases in Erie County where Butcher was either charged or is the lead suspect in retail thefts.
There were also several bench and arrest warrants out for Butcher. The Grove City police then issued their own warrant for Butcher’s arrest, the complaint states.
