Theresa Hoch
OBITUARY
Theresa Hoch, 85, of Boyertown, passed away Friday, August 14, 2026, at her residence.
She was the loving wife of Gordon Hoch, with whom she shared 55 years of marriage. They were married on December 5, 1970.
Born September 9, 1940, in Reading, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Babb and Stella (Gierot) Babb.
Theresa was a graduate of Reading Catholic High School, Class of 1958. During her working years, she worked in the mail room and as a receptionist at the Berks County CourtHouse. In 1976, she left the workforce to become a devoted stay-at-home mother and homemaker.
Theresa was a longtime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Reading. She was a beloved grandmother who cherished spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking, shopping, watching old Western movies, and spending time with her family. She was affectionately known to her family as “Aunt Babe.”
Theresa is survived by her husband, Gordon Hoch, of Boyertown, and her daughter, Alicia Hoch Breitenstein, wife of Michael Breitenstein.
Also surviving are her grandchildren, Kera, Tyler, Ashlyn, and Brandon, and her great-grandson, Owen.
In addition to her parents, Theresa was predeceased by her son, David Hoch, and her siblings, Joseph Babb and Geraldine Babb.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc., Oley, 423 Main Street, Oley, PA 19547. A viewing will be held prior to the service at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Hill Church Union Cemetery, 620 Hill Church Road, Boyertown, PA 19512.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Disabled American Veterans in Theresa’s memory.
