A new Giant supermarket will open later this month at South Mall near Allentown, just under two years after its original announcement.
The store at 3300 Lehigh St. in Salisbury Township will open at 8 a.m. on Nov. 21, the company announced in a news release. The first 200 customers will receive goodies such as a reusable shopping bag and product samples.
Giant is moving from its previous location at 3015 W. Emmaus Ave. in Allentown, and will replace the former Bon-Ton that closed in 2018. The Emmaus Avenue location will close at 6 p.m. Nov. 20.
“Just in time for the holiday season, my team and I are excited to welcome our neighbors inside and show them what we’ve been working on,” Store Manager Mike Ramos said in the release. “Customers will also see many familiar team members from the West Emmaus Avenue store as well as some new faces as we added more than 75 new full- and part-time jobs to the store.”
Offerings at the new Giant include produce, meat, seafood, dairy, sushi, floral services, a bakery, a hot food bar, alcoholic beverages, an in-store pharmacy and 10 on-site fueling spaces.
It will operate 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. all week, and will join the new Burlington store that opened earlier this month.
