A new haunted maze inspired by the iconic “Blair Witch Project” films is set to headline Dorney Park’s Halloween Haunt this year.
The South Whitehall Township park announced Tuesday the full lineup for this year’s Halloween celebration, which will have seven haunted mazes, five scare zones, four live entertainment experiences and nighttime thrills. The Halloween experiences begin Sept. 18 and continue until Oct. 31.
“Fall is one of the most exciting times of the year at Dorney Park,” Kim Solis, park manager of Dorney Park, said in a news release. “The debut of ‘Blair Witch: No Signal’ brings an iconic horror legend to Halloween Haunt, joining six other haunted mazes, five scare zones and new live entertainment. From daytime family fun to unforgettable scares after dark, Dorney Park is the premier destination for Halloween thrills and fall fun in Lehigh Valley and beyond.”
In addition to the mazes and scare zones, guests can experience nighttime rides, seasonal food and drink, and see hundreds of monsters throughout the park, according to the release.
“Blair Witch: No Signal,” is a maze that takes place in near-total darkness, and includes winding trails, abandoned camps, ritual sites and the Rustin Parr House featured in the original 1999 film that started the series.
The park will also have a new live show called “The Conductor,” a 12-minute drumming and violin production that tells the story of tortured spirits haunting a forgotten steel mill, according to the release.
There will also be family fun days on Saturdays and Sundays from Sept. 19 through Nov. 1. The park will have trick-or-treating, costume contests, live Halloween shows and family friendly entertainment during that time. The events take place during the day, before the Halloween Haunt takes over at sunset.
