ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Lehigh County Coroner’s Office has identified the 18-year-old man who died in a collision with a moped on Monday afternoon.
The victim was Jose E. De Aza, of Allentown, according to a news release from the coroner’s office. He was pronounced dead at 2:11 p.m. Monday in the Emergency Department at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Cedar Crest.
De Aza was operating a motorcycle that collided with a moped around 1:34 p.m. at the intersection of South 25th Street and Hamilton Street in Allentown.
The coroner says an autopsy completed Tuesday determined the cause of death as multiple blunt force injuries. The manner of death was ruled an accident.
The Allentown Police Department Traffic Unit and the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office are assisting the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office & Forensic Center in the ongoing investigation.
