Pioneer Nights: Carbondale Pioneer Nights, Wednesday-Friday from 5-10 p.m., and Saturday, stands open at noon, featuring fun, food, music and entertainment for the entire family. Fireworks will take place Friday night at 9:30 and the annual Pioneer Night Parade will be Saturday at 6 p.m. in downtown Carbondale. Flea market: St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church annual flea market, Sept. 12, 8 a.m.-4 p.m., Sept. 13 (half-price sale), 10 a.m.-2 p.m., and Sept. 19 (bag and box sale), 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The event will be held rain or shine at the church hall, 320 Vine St. Antiques, household items, furniture, children’s items, gift card raffle and much more. A variety of ethnic food items, baked goods and refreshments will also be available
Olyphant
Envelope drive: The envelope drive for funds, sponsored by Eureka Hose Company 4, 717 E. Grant St., is continuing in August. Residents, businesses and friends are encouraged to return donations by mail or leaving at the Olyphant Borough Electric Office. Proceeds are used to offset the cost of insurances, building and apparatus maintenance and utilities.
