Officials gathered Monday to celebrate Regional Hospital of Scranton and its Moses Taylor Hospital campus’ “new chapter of clinical growth, facility investment, and team expansion since returning to nonprofit ownership” under Tenor Health Foundation, which acquired the Commonwealth Health facilities earlier this year. A news release about the ceremony highlights various accomplishments and milestones, including the introduction of several “leading-edge procedures,” the reopening of Moses Taylor’s hospital pharmacy, the launch of a convenient “Meds-to-Beds” program allowing eligible patients to have their prescriptions filled before leaving the hospital and the relocation of “Same Day Surgery services to strengthen the campus as an outpatient hub.” Regional Hospital also recently earned the American College of Cardiology’s HeartCARE Center designation, its highest recognition for hospitals and health systems providing cardiovascular care, it notes. “Our mission is simple: provide exceptional care close to home while investing in the future of healthcare in our community,” Regional Hospital CEO Patrick Conaboy, M.D., said in the release. The return to nonprofit ownership has provided an unique opportunity to reinvest directly back into our patients, our employees, and our facilities. This ribbon cutting represents not only where we are today, but the strong foundation we are building for the future.”
