40th Street Bridge reopens after police activity causes closure

PITTSBURGH — A major Pittsburgh bridge was closed because of a police incident.

The 40th Street Bridge was closed between Millvale and Lawrenceville because of police activity starting at around 4 p.m. on Tuesday.

At 7:00 p.m., PennDOT said the bridge had reopened.

Traffic cameras in the area showed a large emergency response on the bridge.

Channel 11 is working to learn more about what happened.
