Pittsburgh: Impact Day Thursday for more rain
The heaviest rain will be Thursday morning south of Pittsburgh.

Our next system brings two chances at rain to end the week with the heaviest rain falling Thursday, prompting an Impact Day for the morning commute.
Impact Day Thursday
Isolated showers will develop Wednesday afternoon as the cold front approaches. These showers will be very hit or miss through the afternoon and early evening.
The heaviest rain Thursday morning will fall south of Pittsburgh.
The most widespread and heaviest rain will arrive Thursday morning during the morning commute. Rain will be heavy at times, especially south of Pittsburgh. The heavy rain will come to an end by lunch with rain clearing Western Pennsylvania by the middle of the afternoon. By the time rain is done, rainfall amounts could top one inch causing localized flooding problems. Areas that were hit hardest this past weekend could again see flooding issues thanks to still saturated ground.

Steelers Friday
The cold front that brings the rain Wednesday and Thursday will usher in comfortable conditions for Friday. Temperatures will be in the 70s for tailgating and the game with mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies as the Steelers face the Jets at Acrisure Stadium.

Weekend Showers, Quiet Next Week
Another system will sit over the Great Lakes this weekend to send shower chances to the area Saturday and Sunday. A thunderstorm cannot be ruled out on Sunday. This system will exit on Monday to lead to a September preview for the start of next week with dry conditions.
Rain showers to end the week and over the weekend. Drier and comfortable conditions will start next week.
