SWAT team executes search warrant after man shot dead in Pittsburgh neighborhood
Shots were fired just after 5 a.m. Wednesday
PITTSBURGH —
A SWAT team was called to a home in Pittsburgh’s Homewood neighborhood in connection to a deadly shooting earlier in the day.
Officials tell Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 a SWAT team was called to the 7000 block of Idlewild Avenue to execute a search warrant after a man was shot and killed Wednesday morning.
The situation began around 5:05 a.m. when officers were called to the street for a victim with a gunshot wound to the chest.
That person died at the scene and has not been identified.
Hours after that deadly shooting, SWAT and medics were back in the same area as authorities executed a search warrant.
Both the SWAT team and medical responders have since left the scene. Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 has reached out to officials to learn if anyone has been taken into custody.
