Presque Isle Downs & Casino continues to show strong financial momentum, even as owner Churchill Downs Incorporated moves forward with plans to sell the property.
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board received an update on the casino’s operations Wednesday, with officials highlighting solid financial performance at the Erie facility.
According to the update, July 2026 was Presque Isle Downs’ strongest month in four years, generating nearly $9.8 million in gaming revenue. The figure represents a 20% increase compared to July 2025.
The positive report comes as Churchill Downs continues its search for a buyer. Presque Isle Downs is one of nine properties the company has put up for sale as part of a broader strategic review.
Despite the pending sale, Churchill Downs says it remains committed to the Erie property. Company representatives noted that $69 million has been invested in improvements at Presque Isle Downs over the past three years, and said additional investments will continue while the sale process moves forward.
The update suggests the casino remains on solid financial footing as Churchill Downs works to identify a new owner for the Erie gaming and entertainment venue.
