MILLCREEK TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Erie County Coroner Lyell Cook has identified the motorcyclist killed in a collision with an SUV on Interchange Road near the Millcreek Mall Tuesday night. Cook said Cody Fike, 33 died of multiple blunt force trauma. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
Millcreek Police and rescue crews were called to the intersection of Interchange Rd. and Interstate 79 around 8:38 p.m.
Investigators said the motorcyclist was traveling west on Interchange Rd. through the intersection as a white SUV driven by a 24-year-old Millcreek woman was traveling east and attempting to turn left onto I-79 northbound.
Police said the SUV turned and was hit by the motorcycle.
According to reports from the scene Fike was thrown well over 100 feet on impact with the SUV. The SUV driver was taken to AHN Saint Vincent Hospital for treatment.
Millcreek Police are continuing to investigate the accident. Fike, originally from Corry, had been living in the Erie area.
