SS. Cyril and Methodius Church celebrates Pentecost, Memorial Day

Traditionally, SS. Cyril and Methodius Ukrainian Catholic Church, Olyphant, celebrated Pentecost and Memorial Day with the Divine Liturgy at the church’s cemetery chapel in Peckville. Due to the inclement weather, the Divine Liturgy was held back at the church at River Street in Olyphant.

At the church, the Rev. Nestor Iwasiw, pastor, officiated, wearing green and gold vestments for the holidays. The choir sang  “God Bless America,” followed by Panakhyda (a short prayer service for the dead and used on Memorial Day).
