A Scranton woman will face drug-trafficking charges after attempting to smuggle synthetic drugs into State Correctional Institution at Dallas last week, according to state police.
Kayla Askew, 31, is accused of trying to sneak the unspecified synthetic substance into the Jackson Twp. prison on the morning of Aug. 13.
Troopers said the contraband was seized and placed into evidence.
Charges of possessing a controlled substance with the intent to deliver were pending against Askew, police said.
