Erie County residents will have an opportunity to celebrate the region’s rich heritage and vibrant community spirit during the Erie County 250 Arts, Music, and History Festival on August 23, at the Erie County Fairgrounds. The free, family-friendly event will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., rain or shine.
Hosted by ErieCounty250, the festival is designed to commemorate Erie County’s history while bringing together local artists, musicians, historians, businesses and community members for a day of entertainment and education. The event will take place at the Erie County Fairgrounds, located at 13993 State Highway 8 & 89 in Wattsburg.
Visitors can explore historic displays highlighting the area’s past, browse offerings from local crafters and vendors, and enjoy a variety of food trucks throughout the day. Live music will also be a centerpiece of the celebration, with performances by regional acts Wicked Goose and Hot Mess.
Automobile enthusiasts will have the chance to enjoy the return of the popular Gas and Gears II Car Show. The event features free entry for participants and trophy awards, adding another attraction to the festival’s lineup.
Organizers are also offering a special incentive for early attendees. The first 250 guests through the gates will receive a free Erie County 250 commemorative T-shirt, while supplies last.
One of the day’s signature moments will be the countywide Time Capsule Ceremony. Community members can participate in preserving Erie County’s story for future generations through a time capsule that is scheduled to be opened in 2076, coinciding with the nation’s 250th anniversary.
