Star of Bethlehem Baptist Church, 1204 St. Joseph St., Baton Rouge, will celebrate its Men’s and Women’s Day at 10 a.m. Sunday.
The guest speaker will be the Rev. Keysha Dominick Richard of Promised Land Baptist Church.
The theme is “Brothers and Sisters United: One Church, One Faith, One Mission,” based on Ephesians 4:4-6.

Religious Liberty Weekend at Berean Seventh-day Adventist
Berean Seventh-day Adventist Church, 5100 Osborne Ave., Baton Rouge, will host its seventh annual Public Affairs and Religious Liberty (PARL) Weekend Friday-Saturday, Aug. 28-29, in the Berean School complex.
The theme is “The Seal of the Living God: Signs of Jesus’ Soon Return.”
The weekend begins at 6 p.m. Friday with praise and worship, followed by a presentation on “Signs of Jesus’ Soon Return.” A light meal will be served. Activities resume at 11 a.m. Saturday with “The Seal of the Living God — Revelation 7,” followed by a full-course meal and an afternoon session from 2 to 3 p.m.
The guest speaker will be the Rev. Stephen Brooks, executive secretary of the Southwestern Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventists and director of evangelism and personal ministries.
The public is invited.
5th Sunday fellowship service at Freeman Baptist Church
Freeman Baptist Church, 4628 La. 955, Ethel, will host its fifth Sunday fellowship service at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 30.
The guest speaker will be the Rev. Ted Major, pastor of New Philadelphia Baptist Church in Slaughter.
