Benefit cut-a-thon: Dickson City Great Clips, in collaboration with the Career Technology Center of Lackawanna County, cut-a-thon benefiting Wigs for Kids, Oct. 18, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., CTC of Lackawanna County, 3201 Rockwell Ave., Scranton; $20 haircuts provided by licensed professionals, free donation haircuts, raffle baskets, Smash Hut Food Truck.
Walk with a doc: The Wright Center for Community Health September Walk with a Doc in Jermyn is Sept. 19 at 9 a.m. at the Lackawanna River Heritage Trail. Walkers should gather at the Delaware Street Trailhead entrance. The Scranton Walk is scheduled for Sept. 12 at 9 a.m., also along the Lackawanna River Heritage Trail, with walkers meeting at the Olive Street entrance. These events are free and open to the public, welcoming individuals of all fitness levels. No preregistration is required.

Choral Society rehearsal: The Catholic Choral Society will open its 78th season with an organizational and rehearsal meeting Sept. 8 at 6:15 p.m. at the IHM Center on the Marywood Campus. Doors open at 6 p.m. Performance and rehearsal calendars will be distributed at this meeting. New members are welcome; chorus or vocal experience is needed. Auditions are used for vocal placement only. Ann Manganiello, Exeter, is director of the chorus; the accompanist is Linda Houck, Kingston.
Piano and organ concert: First Presbyterian Church of Wilkes-Barre Hymns & Classics: A Piano & Organ Concert, Sept. 13, 2 p.m., featuring Carl Ruck on organ and Alan Hack on piano. The program explores the depth of these two powerful instruments through a blend of sacred hymnody and classical masterworks. The concert is free and open to the public.
