Berks County Public Libraries is releasing a limited-edition card designed to mark a major milestone.

In honor of its 40th anniversary, the system is unveiling a commemorative card designed by one of its staff members.

Amanda Kusant, who works at the Spring Township and West Lawn-Wyomissing Hills libraries, created a card that features iconic symbols from the region including the Reading Pagoda and Pennsylvania Dutch distelfink.

Emily Montagna, community relations coordinator for the library system, said Kusant’s design was chosen by community members  this year. She said the winning artwork was selected from among 11 entries submitted by library staff, making the anniversary card a true reflection of local pride and participation.

“Whether signing up for a first library card or replacing an existing one, patrons will have the opportunity to carry home a unique keepsake in celebration of the library system’s 40th anniversary,” she said.

The new card design can be requested at any Berks County Public Libraries location beginning Sept. 1 and will remain available while supplies last. To learn more about what the system has to offer, visit berkslibraries.org.
