‘Blue-collar, tough’ Pete lands Pittsburgh Steelers spot in Disney x Champion collab
PITTSBURGH —
“Tough town, tough character.” That’s part of the description Disney has used for its Pittsburgh Steelers Disney x Champion Collab.
“Disney’s original heavy is big, gruff and impossible to push around, the kind of grit Steel City respects,” the description continues.
After weeks of waiting for a reveal, we now know that Pete has been selected to represent the Pittsburgh Steelers in the NFL Disney and Champion collaboration.
“Blue-collar, tough, and unapologetically physical. Pete embodies the smash-mouth mentality Steelers fans embrace,” DisneyParks Blog wrote on their website.
Pete may not have been your first choice for the Steelers, but according to Bret Healey, Director, Graphic Design at Disney Consumer Products, the choices are meant to be debated.
“If nobody argues about the picks, is it even a legitimate draft?” Bret says. “Sports fans debate everything rigorously. That’s part of the fun. It keeps us all connected with each other when the games aren’t on.”
