JESSUP — No injuries were reported after an SUV crashed into a borough home early Monday morning. Police continue investigating the incident.
Crews were dispatched to 234 Constitution Ave. around 5 a.m. for a one-car motor vehicle accident into a structure, borough Fire Chief Jim Anderson said.
Upon arrival, all four occupants of the home and the family pet were outside, Anderson said. Two occupants of the vehicle — who were walking around — refused medical treatment, he added.
The black Cadillac SUV was towed away from the scene, Anderson said. He noted the department did some minor shoring to stabilize the interior steps so the house can still be occupied.
Jessup Police Chief Edward Boettcher said the male driver went through a stop sign at Constitution Avenue, then through a yard, before hitting the house.
“We haven’t ruled out mechanical failure, but we also haven’t ruled out driver error,” Boettcher said.
