ALLENTOWN, Pa. — State and county fairs are famous for serving up some of the most outrageous and delicious foods imaginable. From deep-fried favorites to over-the-top creations, fair food has become an attraction all its own.
At the 174th Allentown Fair, taking place Wednesday, September 2 through Labor Day, Monday, September 7, Fair President Daryl Urmy has once again challenged concessionaires to create an exciting new menu item for fairgoers to enjoy.
Participating concessionaires are inviting fairgoers to step outside their comfort zones and try something new, at least new to their Fair menu. Whether sweet, savory, or somewhere in between, each creation is competing for the title of 2026 Best New Fair Food.
And who gets to choose the winner? The fairgoers!
After sampling the entries, fairgoers can vote for their favorite new treat by scanning the QR code displayed at participating food stands.
A location map of participating vendors is available at AllentownFair.com. Fairgoers can also look for the red diamond-shaped signs displayed at participating food stands, inside Agri~Plex, at each admission gate, and at both InFAIRmation booths to find all the featured entries.
