Fairview Township is actively seeking an experienced and visionary Fire Chief to lead the newly merged Fairview Lake Shore Fire Department.
This leadership opportunity comes as the department continues implementing its merger plan and strengthening its strategic vision.
The Fire Chief will play a key role in shaping the future of emergency services in Fairview Township. Responsibilities include providing strategic leadership, guiding department operations, advancing long-term planning initiatives, and ensuring the continued development of the department’s standard of cover.
The position reports directly to the Fairview Township Board of Supervisors while working closely with the Fairview Lake Shore Fire Department Board of Directors.

Candidates should possess strong organizational, leadership, and community engagement skills to help advance the department’s mission and support its dedicated personnel.
The ideal candidate will possess several professional credentials and certifications, including:
Degree in Fire Science or Public Administration
Firefighter II Certification
Fire Service Officer I
Fire Service Instructor I
Fire Inspector I
Paramedic Certification
Applicants must establish a primary residence within a 20-mile straight-line distance of Station 52 within 12 months of hire. The selected candidate must also demonstrate the ability to lead career personnel while fostering a collaborative environment that supports volunteer firefighters and emergency responders.
The position offers a competitive salary ranging from $74,880 to $85,280, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
