WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. – A 34-year-old man is dead, and a woman was seriously injured, after a shooting in Whitehall Township Tuesday night.
It happened at the Olympic Gardens apartments in the 1200 block of Pericles Place. Lehigh County Coroner Dan Buglio confirmed his office was on the scene just after 11 p.m. Emergency communications dispatchers said the 911 call for the incident came in at 10:22 p.m.

Buglio said the man was pronounced dead Tuesday just before 11 p.m.
The man died as a result of injuries sustained in the shooting, Buglio said. An autopsy Thursday will assist in determining the exact cause and manner of death.
Buglio said the man has been identified, but his identity is not being released at this time to allow his family and friends the opportunity to grieve.

The Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office said the woman received life-saving measures on the scene of the incident from first responders and was brought to a local hospital where she received emergency medical treatment.
The Lehigh County Coroner’s Office, the Whitehall Township Police Department, and the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office are investigating.
We spoke with neighbor Tiffany Ellis, who told us she didn’t hear the shots being fired, but said she’s now concerned and wants answers.
“Like, ‘Oh my God, what happened? Was it a shooting outside? Was it in the apartment?’ We’ve been here for five years and nothing like this has ever happened before. It’s a nice neighborhood, quiet,” Ellis said.
