University of Scranton’s F.I.R.S.T. Program hosts Family Fun Day

It was perfect weather for the University of Scranton’s Family Fun Day on Tuesday.

The school’s Center for Service and Social Justice hosted the event at Novembrino Park.

Organizers say the goal is to help first-year students acclimate to college life.

“This program, F.I.R.S.T., which stands for ‘First Years Involved Reflective Service Together’, really is a great experience for incoming first-years and the upperclassmen team, because it gives them a chance to get involved in the Scranton community where we go to school, and model the pillars of our Jesuit education,” said Kate Vyzaniaris, senior.

Students could participate in games, a school supply giveaway, and more at the event in Scranton.
