READING, PA — A man wanted on felony charges was apprehended while hiding behind furniture in a third-floor residence on Aug. 24.

Richard Morales, 46, of Reading, was arrested on the 1000 block of Cotton Street by the Berks County Sheriff’s Office Warrants Unit.

Morales was wanted on charges of strangulation and simple assault filed by the Reading Police Department.

Two residents at the location were charged with hindering apprehension for concealing Morales’ whereabouts.

Morales was transported to Central Booking and arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Johnson.

He was later released on unsecured bail.
