A Taylor man threatened his neighbor with a handgun during a dispute over a pile of trash, according to a criminal complaint.
Charles Roche, 120 N. Main St., Apt. 6, faces charges of making terroristic threats, assault, harassment and disorderly conduct.
Officers were called to the residence at about 3:30 p.m. on Saturday for the report of an 18-year-old threatening another man with a firearm.
David Plevyak told officers that, after spotting the trash in the rear of the residence, he asked Roche if he wanted to do anything about it and threatened to call the zoning officer.
Roche admitted to placing the garbage in the alley but refused to clean it up, and the argument escalated. Plevyak told officers Roche got “very cocky,” according to a criminal complaint.
Roche allegedly reached inside his residence, grabbed the gun, pointed it at Plevyak from about 30 feet away and said he “would like to do something about it.”
Plevyak told officers he had remained inside his fenced-in backyard during the dispute.
Officers found Roche nearby and arrested him. When asked where the gun was, he pointed toward his residence, according to the complaint.
Police found a loaded black 9 mm handgun registered to Roche on his kitchen countertop.
Roche remains in Lackawanna County Prison in lieu of $50,000 bail.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 2 before District Judge Kipp Adcock.
