A new local gathering spot is officially serving customers on East Lake Road. 814 Grounds Café and Coffee Shop opened its doors Wednesday morning, welcoming a steady stream of visitors and filling its parking lot with community support on its first day of business.
Owners Dave and Anne LeFebre said they are excited to bring more than just coffee to the area. Their vision for 814 Grounds is to create a welcoming community space where residents can gather, connect, and enjoy a variety of events.
In addition to its daily café operations, the business plans to host weekly reservation-only dinner events and other special gatherings throughout the year. The owners hope these offerings will help establish the café as a destination for both locals and visitors.
Opening day marked the end of a long journey for the owners, who faced numerous setbacks and delays while working toward launching the business. Despite those challenges, the couple successfully welcomed customers through the doors and celebrated the milestone alongside supporters from across the community.
The café will resume normal business hours beginning tomorrow, operating from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The LeFebres say the opening is only the beginning for 814 Grounds. Additional projects and improvements are planned for the building in the coming months as they continue to expand the space and enhance the experience for customers.
With strong turnout on opening day and plans for future growth, 814 Grounds Café and Coffee Shop is already making its mark as a new community hub on East Lake Road.
